OBSERVATORY IMAGES

My observatory was completed on 16th July, 2003.
I decided on the roll off roof version for two reasons.
Firstly, a dome was very expensive, and secondly because the open roof aspect was perfect for my asteroid search program.
I know that I could have motorised a dome roof and used that, but the open roof did away with that need and provided a good all round visibility.
The observatory houses a Meade LX200 12 inch Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. It is a F10 instrument reduced down to F5.5. This gives me a larger image and more visible stars per image.
For taking the images, I use a Starlight Xpress MX5 mono CCD camera
